Design-intuitive studio apartment

When living in a studio apartment, people tend to feel lost when it comes to filling their space with functional, yet aesthetically pleasing furniture. In this blog, we’ll walk you through how to design your luxury studio apartment at The Capstone.

Luxury features
When designing The Capstone’s apartment homes, it was imperative to include feature-rich appliances and finishes in each space. Whether you’re living in a studio or three-bedroom apartment home, you’ll find the same level of detail. Think chef-worthy Energy Star® stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, designer fixtures in kitchens and bathrooms, luxurious wood plank style flooring throughout, generous windows with built-in sunshades, modern accent and room lighting, and a ButterflyMX™ smartphone video intercom system.

In select studio apartments, we include a spacious outdoor patio that serves well as an entertaining space all seasons round. During winter, outfit your patio with space heaters or an electric fire pit for roasting smores and drinking hot cocoa. Then, once the warmer months come around, hang a hammock to create an outdoor restorative space for reading and unwinding.

Dual functionality
In any studio apartment, double duty pieces will be your greatest ally. Start thinking about the dual-functionality of furniture pieces, as Interior Designer Michael Kramer of Michael Thomas & Co described in one of our previous blogs. Instead of a simple coffee table, go for a flat-top treasure chest that can open up and act as a storage space for cozy blankets, arts and crafts, and more.

If you’re fond of entertaining and want to keep your sleeping space private, then invest in a partition that doubles as a make-shift wall. On one-side is your bed, and on the other can be a high-top table or additional seating, as seen in our Studio / Apt. 309 virtual tour. Incorporating a partition within your design concept adds texture and creates a delineation between your dreamscape and your space to entertain.

Storage
At The Capstone, your studio apartment is designed with you in mind. For all your kitchen supplies and toiletries, you’ll find built in shelving and soft close cupboards throughout your chef-inspired kitchen and spa-like bathroom. If you’re a fashionista who’s curated a wide selection of stylish clothing, our spacious closets have built-in floating shelves with hanging bars to store all your timeless pieces and accessories. In select studio apartments, you’ll even find walk-in closets for additional storage.

Need more shelving? Try installing a few floating shelves above your couch or along an accent wall to give you more space to store some of your favored items. Even better, choose shelving that can double as a desk, as seen in the virtual tour linked above and pictured below.

“After reviewing countless apartments, Capstone was by far the easiest choice for me to make. Thank you Erga! From the unit to the amenities, Capstone provides me with the most convenience for day to day living. I would recommend The Capstone to anyone who is looking for that perfect blend of work from home or work from the city, with great views, staff, and restaurants close by.” – Oliver S., Resident of The Capstone
